Hadstock has a huge potential in Biodiversity with a rare chalk meadow nature reserve with – over 120 wildflower species, 80 acres of woodland including the ancient Hadstock Wood. Over 15 miles of natural hedges – vital as wildlife habitats and corridors. One hundred acres of gardens and one thousand acres of farmland! Our plan is to identify where we can make practical improvements in the biodiversity & nature across the Parish – including our gardens.
Project Status Information
We are continuing with the flora and fauna surveys. Our habitat analysis has focused us on wilding parts of our Recreational Ground, assessing our ancient woodland (Hadstock Wood), putting more focus on our pathways and discussing biodiversity views with our local farmers. We are also planning on a nature trail in part of the Village. We are organising some evening talks on Nature and Waste.
