Walden Countryside is concerned with obtaining and managing nature reserves in northern Uttlesford. Its nature reserves are open on foot without charge at all times and there are family-orientated open days and children’s wildlife groups.
The management of the reserves (and the running of the community interest company) is done entirely by volunteers. Part of the habitat management on all three reserves is to graze the grasslands with a small flock of sheep.
