The Wholesome Charity provides health and wellbeing support to families and individuals. We provide food support, art classes, a warm hub, community events and lots more to encourage people to be more active and feel less socially isolated. The latest project is to grow fresh produce for the Community Fridge and Community Supermarket.
The warm hub provides a café and shares its space with other organisations bringing the community together. We have regular events which are often free, especially to those on benefits. We run regular workshops planting seeds for our EcoLife-connect project which is good for peoples mental and physical health as well as providing produce for the community. We have recently started giving cooking lessons again, using energy efficient appliances. These cookery lessons are for people who are single (but not exclusively), supplying meal ideas, recipes and how to cut down on waste. The best part of these sessions is the social aspect of eating together the meal which has been prepared.
Our next venture is to provide a movement to music class, sitting for those who cannot be on their feet and dancing for those who can.
