NFU Mutual Charitable Trust

Description

The NFU Mutual Charitable Trust was set up in 1998, to promote and support charities in the United Kingdom working in agriculture, rural development and insurance. Donations vary from £1,000 to £75,000. However, the Trustees’ funding is limited, therefore the larger donations are used to support organisations which have a significant impact on rural communities at a national level.

Elibility and Criteria

The Trustees generally provide support to organisations that have strong farming and insurance backgrounds. Unfortunately, due to the large number of applications we receive we cannot always support those that meet the majority of the Trustees’ objectives. the objectives of teh organisation are:

To advance the education of the public by means of research and dissemination of information in relation to agriculture
To advance the education of young people within rural areas
To relieve poverty within rural areas
To promote the benefit and social welfare of inhabitants of rural communities by associating together with the inhabitants and local authorities, voluntary and other organisations to advance education and leisure
To promote research into agricultural associated activities
To advance the education of the public by means of research and dissemination of information in relation to insurance

The Trustees do not provide funding for university fees, salaries or overseas appeals.
