This Recycling Week (14 to 20 September), try to recycle “just one more thing” in the Bathroom Recycling Challenge.
The national campaign is all about highlighting commonly-missed household recyclables and encouraging residents to keep valuable materials in circulation. All of these items are accepted in household recycling in Uttlesford.
- Empty aerosols
- Foil – please give it a quick clean first
- Cartons for milk, juice, custard, soup, etc. – please rinse them first
- Spray bottles including triggers
Batteries should never go in your household bin. Recycling them is easy, with collection points at recycling centres, libraries and many supermarkets across Essex.
Don’t forget that you can recycle small items with your weekly kerbside bin collections in Uttlesford. Remove any batteries and bulbs, then simply leave electricals items such as hairdryers, toasters and kettles in a carrier bag on top of the bin on the usual collection day (recycling or waste).
