National Emergency Briefing on the climate and nature crisis – 27th November

A National Emergency Briefing on the climate and nature crisis was held on 27th November at Central Hall Westminster.

An invite-only audience of around 1,250 politicians and leaders from business, culture, faith, sport and the media with the latest implications for health, food, national security and the economy. 81 MPs and 52 Peers signed up to attend, and many others arrived at the last minute without tickets.

This event has had underwhelming coverage by mainstream media given its importance.

A digestible summary video of the messages shared at the event is available here, along with a ‘call to action’  to get this information out more widely.

It’s about time that some of the real science was shared with the public in a ‘televised emergency briefing’ to counter the swamp of false counter-information (often funded by the fossil fuel industry). Everyone should have the opportunity to hear the profound messages shared.  A letter has been written for Keir Starmer and major broadcasters to actively share this information, you can add your signature to that letter here.

The National Emergency Briefing website is here and their YouTube channel is here with a number of excepts and analysis pieces, including the summary video linked above.
