A website has been set up to encourage people travelling, and locals too, to avoid the chains and service stations, and instead look for local food traders selling fresh wholesome produce and who put people and the planet first. The site goes on to point out that according to the Sustain, Unpicking Food Prices Report (2022), “Three times more of your food pound goes to farmers with every purchase you make from your local better food trader”

What strikes me is that Uttlesford is currently a ‘local food desert’ according to this map, yet we have a multitude of local food producers/vendors who are putting people and the planet first. Let’s try to get Uttlesford ‘on the map’.
